Job Summary

Responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting / escalating batch issues, creation / modifications and deployment of batch schedules in development, acceptance, and production environments. Code / application migration and data fix script execution. Workings with support teams to resolve batch issues in a proactive manner to ensure system / application availability to the user community.

Essential Functions of the Job
The role of Batch Management Specialist  will center on the following points

  •  Ownership of Batch Management solution including
  •  Planning and implementing changes to application batch processes
  •  Monitoring of batch processing for failures, prompts and general alerts
  •  Escalating of batch processing issues as directed by PSP or specific instructions embedded in the processing
  • The role requires the individual to operate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within their scope of the Batch Management solution providing level 3 production support. This requires the individual to work closely with the sub-team lead for Batch Management. In addition the role requires decision making / input relating to:
  •  Use of their Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge in both Control M desktop and Enterprise Manager to provide fault tolerant batch schedules and batch alerting
  •  Provide input to the application support teams in regard to changes to the batch processing when better practices are identified
  •  Reviewing requests and working with support teams to resolve questions relating to versions to be migrated and environments to be migrated to
  •  Work with application support teams to further escalate issues to management when system availability is in jeopardy

Shift: Mon to Friday 08:00-17:00



Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • Experience with Control-M Desktop and Enterprise Manager scheduling software
  • Familiarity with Change Control and Release Management software- SCCS,PVCS and Cedric
  • Ability to navigate through various OS systems and execute scripts (Windows , Unix and Linux, Oracle/ SQLPlus)
  • Project code migrations using People Soft People Tools 
  • Ability to  diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve incidents and manage change requests 
  • Creating and maintaining documentation for supported environments as well as following ITIL practices
  • Familiarity with Lotus Notes, Excel, Access, Word, Vision Explorer
  • Good communication and organizational skill
  • Basic project management skills
  • Outgoing and can work in a high demand, production environment
  • English language skills- good written and verbal communication
  • 5 years experience in Batch Scheduling environment
