Amazon is looking for an International Indirect Tax Senior Analyst based in Mexico City. This position is responsible for Mexico indirect tax compliance, technical tax research, planning, and assisting with project implementation.
Primary duties include:
Coordinate and manage the use of outside advisors to prepare indirect tax returns and related accessory obligations,
Assisting with managing, coordinating and reviewing indirect tax compliance, filing returns and reporting obligations
Supporting with drafting tax requirements for new product/country launches,
Developing, implementing and documenting tax compliance process improvements,
Working with AP, AR and Trade Compliance to ensure tax compliance through the provision of process documents,
Providing support to the global accounting team responsible for accounting for corporate and inter company transactions,
Work with tax technology and IT teams to come up with automated solutions to the compliance process and assist with implementation,
Collaborate with business units to proactively identify and research international tax planning opportunities,
Assist with evaluating the tax effect and implications of international business initiatives, contemplated transactions, and business proposals,
Follow up with tax law changes and implement new processes and strategies,
Provide assistance to local tax audits and controversy matters, and
Review financial data for proper application of indirect tax laws and transfer pricing.
2+ years of tax experience with exposure to international tax in a Big 4 public accounting firm, major law firm, and/or a multinational corporation.
2-4 years using computer software including Excel, Word, and online research software.
Fluent English and Spanish written and oral communication skills
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics or Business Administration preferred
Experience in tax compliance and audits
