 Job Summary


The role of the Director will be to manage the procurement of technology products, including hardware and software services, at an agreed set of Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators. The role will work closely with the Procurement Operations leaders and also participate in negotiations giving desired levels of cost savings.

The role holder will be expected to form lasting relationships with leaders and other key stakeholders/ clients to drive the development of the procurement organization.

Essential Functions of the Job:


Strict adherence to the procurement policy set by the CPO

Ensure cost savings targets are met and ensure quality of service is not compromised

Ensure follow-ups are made to have approvals on time and stick to agreed TAT

Manage the overall quality of service across all processes within a multiple country environment on a timely basis. Ensure adherence to service level agreements and deliver high quality, cost effective and efficient services.

Continually challenge existing ways of working. Identify and develop new opportunities for standardization and consistency in service delivery

Consider the implementation of SAP, and build a process based service delivery organization to support customer requirements

Engage and create meaningful and productive business relationships with clients and stake holders

Actively contribute as part of the Procurement Services extended leadership team

As a senior procurement resource, contribute to overall procurement strategy and initiatives as determined

Responsible for overall technology procurement delivery and the service quality of the function and will have a number of direct reports – based on the Procurement Services organization structure

Responsible for driving engagement across the service function, able to drive change with empathy and a global mindset. Create an environment that motivates individuals and teams and recognizes exceptional performance

Discuss, develop and monitor formal performance goal setting with team members, including development and career goals, in line with stated performance review process

Maintain a high performing team, focused on delivering Exceptional Client Service 


 Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities: 


Have global standards of negotiation and deal closing capabilities

Swift decision making and contract signing skills

Think creatively and provide innovative suggestions that will improve service delivery

Prioritize and manage the implementation of multiple initiatives to improve productivity and efficiency.

Use previous working experience and knowledge to demonstrate expertise in the “offshore” business model, applying to procurement service delivery



Knowledge and Skills Requirements

 Show in-depth understanding of technology procurement and process details that go into deal closure

Able to handle discussions with senior leaders across the Procurement organization to help drive decision making

Proven ability to lead teams, demonstrate leadership competencies including coaching skills

Excellent organization, analytical and problem solving skills

Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills – able to handle conflict situations and resolve issues satisfactorily

Demonstrable facilitation and presentation skills

Ability to explain the decisions being taken to close procurement deals and share the outcome of the same

At least 10 years of relevant progressive experience from a large organization, either a partnership or multi-national corporation

 In depth working experience of IT procurement

Proven working experience of a Shared Services Centre operations and/or BPO operations

Bachelor’s degree or above from an Engineering, commercial, business or procurement related discipline

 Advanced level of English.
